    . Job Description
      The  Human Resource Generalist for Information Technology will be responsible for managing all human resource activities required of the IT staff of the company.  Working together with both the Information Technology team and  Corporate Human Resources office, the candidate will be responsible for supporting approximately 240+ IT employees.  These responsibilities include the efficient and professional management of daily human resource activities, which include recruiting for open information technology positions, coordinating employee on-boarding and dismissals,  and acting as a liaison to corporate HR for benefits, payroll, and legal inquiries.  A significant portion of the candidate’s time will also be dedicated to a number of process improvement projects within the IT organization, which include title normalization, performance management improvement and establishment of training plans associated with well-defined career ladders.

      The ideal candidate is expected to have proficiency in the following areas:

      Recruiting Process Management:  The successful candidate will have considerable experience working with hiring managers to organize and execute processes associated with identifying and hiring Information Technology employees.  The candidate should be proficient in gathering requirements for IT positions, assisting managers in crafting high-quality job descriptions and be familiar with the use of online tools to post job information.  The human resource generalist will need to successfully identify candidates whose experience matches existing job descriptions, screen candidates, coordinate interviews with hiring managers, and manage all post-interview correspondence.  The generalist must be able to work successfully with hiring managers and corporate HR to present candidate offers, discuss compensation and organize the on-boarding process.

      Human Resource Management:  The candidate must be experienced in managing HR processes for an organization of similar size and complexity, and will be required to provide direct support to the CIO, VPs, managers and employees within the organization.  This includes having adequate knowledge of, and the ability to accurately manage an employee inventory and handle employee relations issues, understand payroll processing, work with confidential compensation and benefits information, manage terminations, understand exemption statuses, evaluate employee performance and improve the performance management process, help establish title consistency across multiple departments, assist in the design of career ladders and build employee training plans. 

      Communication: The individual in this position will interact with all employees of the IT organization.  He or she must have the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel, often confidentially.  The candidate must be able to effectively coach managers and employees on the appropriate actions required to resolve employee relations issues.
