The Chief Assignment Editor (CAE) is a key figure during the morning and afternoon meetings during which stories are selected.

The CAE oversees all Assignment Desk personnel and operations; monitors company-wide news operational needs; and maintains international contacts. The CAE insures that all stories, projects, and productions are given proper logistical and planning support.

The CAE maintains a daily file which contains press releases, story ideas, reminders of follow-ups and scheduled events, and contact information about events.

The CAE must have has a good knowledge of the geography of the 22+ Arab speaking countries of the Middle East and North Africa, as well as a thorough knowledge of the resources and organizational structure of The Network to optimize performance and efficacy.

Deliver the news from Teleprompter or scripts in an unbiased manner in speech and non-verbal communication.
Deliver news in a distinctive style that will attract and retain viewers with a voice quality that is authoritative yet conversational.
Clear pronunciation in Classical Arabic.
Proofread copy and edit copy into his/her own reading style. Stories should be compelling, factually correct, creative and written in a clear, concise conversational manner.
Collaborate with producing staff during the news production process.
Maintain composure on-air.
Research and craft probing questions for newsmakers interviewed live.
Take direction from Executive Producer, Senior Producers.
Follow commands from Director and Producer in the control room while newscast is on the air.
Actively participate in editorial meetings.
Write stories for newscasts.
Produce packages for special shows or newscasts when requested.
Thorough knowledge of the news operation and journalistic ethics.
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that works well with co-workers, supervisors and customers.
Represent network at various affairs.
The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties and take on other responsibilities as dictated by developing events and circumstances.

Required

Superior knowledge of media theory and media terminology specifically as it applies to travel related products, preferably, travel destination or cruise line account experience would be "ideal".
This senior level individual must have a proven track record at building a travel brand on all levels of advertising and marketing.
Must have strong research capabilities in order to create new strategies and innovative plans.
Strong organizational skills, prioritize and the ability to multi-task.
Ability to manage and coordinate with outside agencies and the ability to set priorities.

This high powered individual must also have the ability to travel to resort locations.
Minimum 6-10 years of directly related experience with a large, multi-market retailer or media/advertising agency with significant retail accounts.

Job Description

We seek an experienced, intelligent and aggressive interactive sales professional to join a highly dynamic media and entertainment environment.
This is a unique online advertising sales position that targets and develops new and existing national accounts in a high profile entertainment group.
This senior account executive will evaluate specific business categories and marketplace trends in order to identify prospective accounts that are seeking a youth oriented, highly desired 18-34 demographic.
This online executive will also work closely with internal "on-air" National Advertising Sales personnel to create opportunities for cross platform advertisers and agencies.
Reports to National Vice President Interactive Advertising Sales.

Requirements

National interactive on-line advertising sales experience with advertising agencies and clients
Strong communication skills to present to major advertising agencies, and other major national advertisers in Chicago and the primary business centers surrounding Chicago, IL.
Strong relationships with agencies and national advertising clients that allow the presentation of special events, integrated advertising opportunities and standard online advertising sales opportunities
An entrepreneurial and creative approach to business
The ability to structure deals and develop strong client relationships as part of one the world's largest media and entertainment companies
The ability to accompany polished TV Network sales staff to call on national advertisers and agencies to represent the Network's Interactive Group as a leading 18-34 media and entertainment property
Experience presenting to major advertising agencies and national advertisers in and around the Chicago / Midwest area is essential.
