Primary Function
|
Deliver accurate, balanced and appropriate newscasts that conform to the Network’s mission and journalistic standards.
The Executive Producer is an experienced newscast producer with the leadership ability to help manage the newsroom and serve as the driving force in the editorial process.
The Executive Producer oversees all assigned newscasts, breaking news and other special news event programming as well as news gathering and production.
With overall direction from the Vice President of Network News, the incumbent is responsible for overall decisions on coverage, live shots, breaking news, and newscast formats. The Executive Producer leads newsroom staff.

Duties
|
- Accountable for the editorial content and production value of all news broadcasts to ensure they conform to proscribed broadcast policies and standards.
- Leads daily news meeting to determine story selection and newscast formatting for assigned broadcasts; includes daily decision-making about story selection, live shots, breaking news coverage
- Contributes coverage ideas that advance the mission of the station and enhance the value of newscasts to the Network’s viewers.
- Monitors story development during pre-production controlling the content and maintaining the quality of all newscasts to ensure that broadcasts conform to company policy and journalistic standards.
- Demonstrates/models a strong sense of ethics and professional judgment.
- Identifies and develops the talents and strengths of the existing staff, manages assigned staff; providing performance feedback and evaluation, career guidance and clear development opportunities in compliance with standards and practices.
- Works closely with the Vice President of Network News to develop long-term coverage planning for special events.
- Coordinates and communicates regularly with other Department managers to further the success of the newscasts.

Required
|
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience (U.S. based experience/journalism education desired).
- 10+ years television producing experience. Two years news management experience is required.
- Outstanding leadership skills and a drive to excellence.
- News/editorial judgment focused on in-depth, balanced, quality storytelling that is void of advocacy.
- Fluency in Classical Arabic (reading, writing, speaking).
- Solid planning and communication skills.
- Outstanding writing abilities.
- Sophisticated computer skills, including knowledge of advanced news content systems.
Broad working knowledge of the Middle East and North Africa, superior attention to details, and a professional demeanor under pressure.

Duties
|
- Coordinate fully with the Vice President of News on all matters affecting the coverage and broadcast of news and special events as well as personnel matters affecting the news team being supervised.
- Develop, organize and implement plans of Netowk news for special-target audiences and localized programming for assigned stream when the timing is appropriate.
- Exercise sound editorial judgment in all matters affecting news and programs broadcast by the Radio Network.
- Identify leading stories for the day and coordinate coverage of these stories with correspondents and team members.
- Draft and edit Arabic-language news scripts, checking copy for accuracy, suitability for broadcast, style, and correct grammar. Integrate the use of sound effects and audio cuts that are most pertinent and interesting to enhance the quality and appeal of the final production.
- Assign tasks to team members. Prepare a daily schedule of voicing assignments for team members approved by the Vice President of News to do on-air voicing. Edit correspondents’ reports.
- Participate in live newscasts, pre-recorded segments, and in-studio coverage of special events, such as presidential speeches, elections and other events that the Vice President of News decides should be covered.
- Using proper interview techniques, conduct radio interviews in Arabic and English with a range of sources involved in political, economic, scientific, cultural, and other activities. Identify persons to interview and issues to cover to ensure a balanced program.
- Identify strengths and weaknesses of team members, helping each of them develop skills to improve the quality of performance and better serve the broadcasts and the Radio Network’s goals. Provide periodic feed back and recommendations to the Vice President of News.
- Continually expand contact lists and networks of news makers and experts used as sources for information and original news stories.
- Research topics of interest and closely follow political, economic, military and cultural developments affecting the broadcast region, including the evolution of U.S. and international policies.
- Master the various pieces of technical equipment, including computers, Dalet, FTP, and studio equipment, used in the performance of duties. Monitor regional and international media outlets for analysis and assessment, as well as exposure to developments in broadcast practices and up-to-date technology.

Summary
|
The Chief Assignment Editor (CAE) is a key figure during the morning and afternoon meetings during which stories are selected.
The CAE oversees all Assignment Desk personnel and operations; monitors company-wide news operational needs; and maintains international contacts. The CAE insures that all stories, projects, and productions are given proper logistical and planning support.
The CAE maintains a daily file which contains press releases, story ideas, reminders of follow-ups and scheduled events, and contact information about events.

- Manage/coordinate the time and logistics to make sure selected stories are covered efficiently with the available staff demonstrating an ability to prioritize and make decisions consistent with the mission of the organization.
- Maintain an assignment log, so that anyone in the newsroom can know the status of a particular crew simply by quickly looking at the log.
- Follow up on all assignments.
- Assists the Coordinating Newsroom Manager in monitoring The Network’s Journalistic Code of Ethics is adhered to.
- Help reporters find interviews.
- Alert management about major news events, disasters, and logistical inefficiencies or concerns.
- Maintain knowledge of current International and US events.
Research and assist in development of story ideas and special coverage.
- Assist editorial staff in developing all news coverage plans.
Maintain regular contact with news sources and production-related vendors.
- The CAE may contribute to the broadcast(s) by writing news stories.

Summary
|
The Director of New Media works under the supervision and direction of the Head of New Media. He/she is responsible for managing all aspects of new media and social media as it relates to the organization’s diversified TV, Radio, Wireless and online presence.
This person should be a results-oriented individual whose responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following: The conceptualization, design and implementation of firm’s new media strategy – a strategy which will be designed to increase the awareness of all the firm’s media brands as well as to drive traffic to its websites, among other things.

The right candidate must have demonstrated and extensive new and social media experience with an active history of participating in a wide variety of social media activities such as blogging, community development and management, social bookmarking and others. In addition the candidate must be able to think strategically, but be willing and able to roll up his or her sleeves to help implement the programs.

- Developing and implementing social media engagement strategies, policies and plans and integrating them with existing marketing campaigns and/or company strategic initiatives.
