Resume Submission to The Arabic Newsroom

Resume Submission to The Arabic NewsroomHere are a few simple guidelines to help with resume submissions so we can obtain a comprehensive understanding of who you are as a journalist, executive and or broadcast professional.

1.      Resumes should be in chronologic order with dates of employment

2.      Your title, employer’s name and geographic location

3.      Each job should list your duties. Did you supervise staff? Did you manage a newsroom? Were you responsible for budgets? Did you travel?  Just placing the word “Producer” next to your dates of employment will not suffice.  We would rather have a too long resume than a too short one.

4.      List your education and technical skills.

5.      On your cover letter, please tell us why you’re interested in the job you are applying for. We want to know what motivates you as a professional.

6.      PRODUCERS & ON-AIR TALENT - A. If you are a Producer please provide links to the shows you have produced.  B. If you are on-air talent like a Radio or TV Anchor please send a show reel on DVD.  Show reels for on-air talent are supposed to show you in as many different situations as possible.   Sitting, standing, on set, off set, talk show, on the street interviews, studio anchor.  Your objective with your reel is NOT to send us complete shows but to show us who you are in as many diverse ways as possible.  We’re looking for high quality production values and polished, animated on-air talent that can make an audience want to come back for more.

EXAMPLE of how to list duties and experience in each position.  Thank you
