This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced affiliate marketing professional who enjoys the business and creative aspects of affiliate marketing on both tactical and strategic levels.
 

• Create, develop and implement marketing and promotional opportunities and local events for affiliates that build value.
• Develop affiliate tune-in initiatives for anchor programming to generate revenue for cable affiliates.
• Create high-speed access promos and (VOD) Video on Demand programs.
• Responsible for all event marketing and trade shows.
• Function as liaison between Marketing, Affiliate Sales and Programming.
• Create and develop Affiliate Marketing materials.
• Manage Affiliate Marketing budgets.
• Supervise Affiliate Marketing Manager, support from assistant and Public Relations Department.

Long term goals
Develop Video on Demand and Integrated Marketing initiatives with designated affiliates to help solidify the Network's relationship and relevance to them. 

Examples of events that will fall under this Director's domain
NCTA Trade Show,  all affiliate hospitality events such as sporting events and any other major affiliate event such as a launch event. 

Internal and external contacts driving initiatives
This person will interact with all affiliate sales management and staff as well as programming and production.  They will interact with affiliates at all levels from the highest marketing and general manager positions to line level marketing personnel.  They will also interact with various outside vendors to handle events and the creation of collateral and promotions/prizing.

Synergy with Sales
Integrated marketing efforts are becoming more relevant to the Network's affiliates as they cover a larger area and become more of a potential buy for national and regional media buyers, therefore increased synergy with Local Ad Sales moving forward will be key. 

Reporting
Provide initiative related reports on a regular basis to the head of Affiliate Sales and Marketing. 

Events per year
There are approximately 5 events per year.  This Director should be willing to travel about once a month between events and meetings with network affiliates. 
 

• 5-10 yrs of TV affiliate marketing experience in: TV affiliate relations, TV affiliate sales or TV affiliate marketing
• Ability to travel as needed to events, trade shows, etc. 
• Degree in Marketing or related business preferred
• Ability to supervise staff
• Proven ability to function with autonomy
• Local Ad Sales and Video on Demand skill sets are of key interest.
