  • Responsible for all aspects of the expense report process.
  • The department currently processes approximately 100,000 expense reports per year.
  • Perform ten specific audits (Executive, Sales, Misc.expenses, Duplicate Expenses, Air-line tickets, etc) each month as well as verify feed to G/L, Payroll and American Express.
  • This area services domestic as well as international expense report filers. 
  • Responsibilities
  • Supervise a staff of seven (7) full time and per diem employees as necessary. 
  • Responsible for insuring the100,000 expense reports that are processed are timely and are in accordance with established company policies. 
  • Systems development and maintenance - Responsible for identifying and evaluating enhancements to the current process. Coordinate these changes both with Internal Information Technology and IBM (the TREX vendor) for testing and implementation into the company workflow. Maintenance items, changes in system rules, audit/sort requirements need to be constantly reviewed and necessary changes coordinated as above.
  • Coordinate all feeds in and out of the T&E process. This includes feeds from Payroll to establish the authorized population, feeds to Payroll and American Express for payment, and feeds to the Ledger to record the week’s activity.
  • Insure timely and accurate audits as defined by Department policy.  This includes identifying additional areas for audit.

    Summary Leading TV Network as a division of the world's most respected media and entertainment company seeks a Director of Sale Services Operations Management also known in some networks as a Director of Sales Services and Planning Operations in Chicago, IL.

    The primary focus of this job is to increase efficiency from an operational perspective in sales services.  This person should enjoy looking at a process and the way people work to improve performance.

    This position supervises the planners and sales assistants from a process and operational perspective as they work closely with the advertising sales team with its daily activities with the primary goal of selling advertising to various clients in the Midwest and West Coast regions.  This person will manage the Sales Planners and Sales Assistants in Chicago and improve process and performance.

    Responsibilities Staff Training

    Responsible for facilitating all operational functions for sales assistants, planners and account executives.  This will include everything from systems, process to actual planning procedures.  Reinforcing procedures and excellence in the planning and schedule maintenance process. 

    A person who enjoys teaching and motivating others to the benefit of everyone involved with the Network.

    Planning

    • Ability to review plans prior to being presented to the account manager for submittal to the client/agency.
    • Accurately monitoring the reweigh / remix of all Upfront plans.
    • Facilitate the distribution of all MSA’s as well as overseeing client receipt of them in a timely fashion.
    • Monitoring/approving re-expressions of dollars.
    • Monitoring/approving all sell-off requests.
    • Monitoring/approving all cutbacks
    • Monitoring/approving all planning rates
    • Monitoring/approving the distribution of ADU schedules
    • Monitor and prioritize sales planners’ workload and distribute work accordingly.
    • Supervise all sales assistant and planners.
    • Providing post summaries of all accounts
    • Handling excess inventory and oversell situations
    • Consultation and interaction with account executive regarding research material, programming, added-value (vignettes, billboards) advertising needs.
    • Interaction with traffic department to gauge inventory availability, restrictions, specials, etc in determining make-up of proposal.
    • Liaison with various departments on client’s behalf when requested.
    • Keep abreast of industry news via “trades” to increase and strengthen knowledge of position and get a general/broad understanding of what’s going on in the industry.
    • Resolve order/invoice-billing discrepancies.
    • Invoicing: research discrepancy, advise client, management, and finance by correspondence on results and if necessary adjusting.
    • Daily review of national missed spot list to modify accounts by either makegoods or clients.
    • Client correspondence as necessary.
    • Weekly group meeting with supervisor to discuss weekly activity, resolve problems, and forecast.
     
    Skills Required
    • Network Sales Services, Sales Planning, Sales Operations or Revenue Management experience in a management capacity.
    • The management and motivation of sales services staff in a TV Network.
    • This person must know what it is to improve performance from the start to the finish of a process.
    • A commitment to developing staff to learn and grow to the betterment of The Network, The Employee and The Client.
    • A person who enjoys improving process and operations in a broadcast environment.
    • The ability and experience to guide and mentor sales planners

    Cable TV Network is seeking an experience Director or strong Manager of Commercial Inventory Control for Network Ad Sales.

    This position is for an experienced Network Ad Sales Commercial Inventory Management professional.  The skills and experience required are listed below. 

    Responsibilities 1. Set up procedures and requirements for commercial inventory/traffic interaction across related sister network(s).
    2. Fully responsible for all inventory controls and those systems for sales - JDS 2000 - Moving to DealMaker
    3. Oversee work of related traffic and sales issues surrounding inventory insuring accurate input of information.
    4. Coordinate with Account Execs and Log Editors to insure equitable rotation throughout dayparts for all advertisers.
    5. Compile and maintain inventory and revenue reports in order to track avails and maximize sales revenue.
    6. Work with and optimize Inventory Systems usage and functionality.
    7. Compile inventory training materials and training programs for all relevant staff - A good people person.
    8. Research and analyze broadcast discrepancies in order to provide expedient resolutions.
    9. Versed on JDS 2000 a big plus. Moving to DealMaker.
    10. Strong Excel and Access (or any other database than Access) to optimize ability to accurately convey inventory availability to Sales Staff.
    11. Ability to make sales aware of 70-80 and 90% yields to assure budget based on remaining inventory.
