| Summary |
U.S.
based global media and entertainment conglomerate is seeking a creative
broadcast engineering professional for their TV Network Group (TNG) |
| Responsibilities |
Develops
technical solutions and conceptual engineering design specifications that
meet user’s requirements.
Generates
cost-to-complete budgets, time-lines, equipment lists, floor plans; rack
and console elevations, detailed audio, video, networking and control diagrams.
Creates
test plans and test systems. Interfaces with various users, technical services,
technicians and other Engineers to implement, install and debug these systems.
Assists
Operations and Maintenance with solutions to on-air problems.
Responsible
for successful completion of one or more major capital project, new equipment
project, and/or short-term non-capital Operations project.

| Skills
Required |
BS degree
in Electrical Engineering or other advanced technical or science degree
or equivalent experience
Minimum
3 years of related work experience
Excellent
written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient
with MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Project.
PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge
of RF, Fiber-Optics, MPEG, and other compression techniques, AutoCAD, Computer

| Summary |
These
are hands-on positions to maintain technical integrity of the NOC’s base
band video/audio and RF infrastructures. |
| Responsibilities |
-
Install,
repair & maintain audio, video, RF, and server based broadcast systems
-
Ability
to repair analog or digital equipment down to the component level
-
Thorough
knowledge on maintaining, repairing and trouble shooting various video
tape machines (DigiBeta, Beta SP, D2, 1” and VHS)
-
Thorough
knowledge on maintaining, repairing and trouble shooting various video
servers (Grass Valley Profile, Pinnacle Warp or Maverick, etc)
-
Thorough
knowledge on maintaining, repairing and trouble shooting various data tape
or disk based archives (Ampex, StorageTek, ADIC, EMC, Avalon, etc.)
-
Thorough
knowledge of Harris/Louth Automation – configuration, installation, trouble
shooting and operation of Device Servers, Air Clients, File Servers, etc.
-
Ability
to maintain and repair HPA’s, antennas, waveguide, exciters and other RF
satellite transmission, signal distribution and signal evaluation equipment.
-
Maintain
and repair character generators, still stores, logomotions, frame synchronizers,
distribution amplifiers, patch bays and other broadcast infrastructure
equipment
-
Maintain
Motorola Videocipher, Digicypher, and SA Power Vue encryption equipment
-
Provide
on-call support 24 hours per day, 365 per year. Support may entail phone
or physical presence at the facility for equipment failure or other disasters.
This includes, but is not limited to UPS/LIPA failures, storms or severe
weather, and loss of personnel.

Ability
to use spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, waveform/vector scopes and
other test equipment
-
Ability
to setup, coordinate, patch and monitor LIVE events
-
Assist
and take phone calls from affiliates in order to resolve problems
-
Ability
to work independently on assignments and report back on progress
-
Ability
to develop and implement proactive procedures
-
Work with
Technical Operations managers and Supervisors on training and development
of technicians; develop SOPs to aid technicians
-
Maintain
database or reports on preventative maintenance assignments
-
Hands-on
installation or fabrication of materials for new or modification projects
-
Ability
to install cabling and equipment, interpret wiring diagrams and drawings
used in the design of new installations
-
Testing
and certification of new installations or modifications
-
Interface
with On Air staff regarding daily needs
-
Attend
various departmental and crew staff meetings
-
Training
of operational staff on equipment and/or configurations

| Skills
Required |

BS Electrical
Engineering, BS Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent required
-
7+ years
experience in broadcast television, cable TV broadcaster or MSO
-
Prior
experience working in a high pressured environment delivering consistency
with mission critical assignments
-
Sony VTR
maintenance training certification on Digibeta VTRs
-
Harris/Louth
Automation training certification a plus
-
Motorola
Digicypher II training certification a plus
-
Knowledge
of Windows NT, 2000, XP operating systems, UNIX a plus
-
MSCS or
A++ certification preferred.

Knowledge
of Microsoft Access, Excel and Word applications, AutoCAD a plus
-
Comprehensive
industry knowledge of analog and digital audio technology, satellite RF
technology and distribution methods, data networks, servers, archive, distribution
systems, analog and SMPTE standards
-
Ability
to
change priorities and handle last minute changes
-
SBE certification
or FCC license recommended

Affiliation
with SMPTE, IEEE, or AES recommended
-
Flexible
schedule and ability to work alternating weekends
