Major
U.S. Media and Entertainment Company seeks an experienced professional
to audit and supervise operations within various business units. Company
offers outstanding benefits, growth and a wonderfully sophisticated and

GENERAL
FUNCTION
To
design and conduct audits that will add significant value to the company
by identifying opportunities to streamline and improve operations, safeguard
company assets, enhance revenues, reduce costs, and promote best business
practices. This position is also responsible for performing special reviews
and investigations, promoting an awareness the department's capabilities
to business unit management and developing a strong working partnership
with business unit management.
DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1)
Develops audit programs; plans and coordinates audit field work
2)
Performs audit fieldwork, develops, supervises and evaluates staff, reviews
work papers
3)
Presents draft audit findings to management and drafts final audit reports
4)
Performs special projects for management and prepares reports of project
findings.
DECISION
MAKING/ACCOUNTABILITY
This
individual must be a seasoned action oriented professional who needs no
supervision to conduct risk based process audits. Responsibilities include
assessing audit risk, designing audit steps to identify weak or lacking
preventive and detective controls, as well as opportunities to enhance
revenues, reduce expenses, and identify waste. This individual must be
adaptable, persuasive and perceptive with strong communication skills,
and must be able to monitor and evaluate staff performance, motivate subordinates,
and promote an awareness of the department's capabilities and value to
business unit management.

AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
NECESSARY
SKILLS
Individual
must possess strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills,
knowledge, and aptitude, as well as a positive attitude. Specific skills
required include:

ability to properly execute the fundamentals of auditing
•
ability to understand the company's operational policies and procedures,
audit objectives, systems to be audited and, more importantly, key business
processes and overall company objectives
•
strong administrative skills, including the ability to handle multiple
assignments simultaneously.

JOB
EXPERIENCE
A
combination
of six years progressive experience at a “big five” CPA firm and/or large
public company internal audit department with at least 1 year in a management
capacity leading audits.
EDUCATION
BS
or MS in Accounting from a reputable university required. Must currently
be a CPA or a CA. An MBA in a field other than accounting will be a plus.
THE
MOST DIFFICULT OR COMPLEX ASPECT OF THIS POSITION
This
position requires a versatile individual who must be action oriented, decisive,
and who can get to the heart of a problem. This person, on different jobs
and at different times, is required to perform multiple tasks such as:
meeting with operational unit management to plan audits or clear audit
recommendations; supervise staff; perform audit field work; and assist
the Vice President and Audit Directors on special projects. The individual
must demonstrate a high degree of audit skepticism and have the ability
to prioritize the timely completion of multiple projects simultaneously.
He/she must also be able to supervise staff with different experience levels
and be very persuasive and perceptive with strong communication skills.
