Salary contingent upon related programming, development and production operations experience

Plans, devises and executes the program schedule for the network; creates an effective and innovative schedule to meet customer needs, affiliate expectations and advertiser goals with an eye to optimizing ratings.

Provides the overall strategic vision, planning and creative direction of the network's program schedule.

Works closely with other departments, especially sales and affiliate relations to ensure the coordinated and focused efforts necessary to keep programming relevant and attractive to key demographic segments of the consumer market.

Tracks the performance of aired programming along with industry developments (i.e. technology changes) and the competition; recommends modifications to acquisition and production plans, when appropriate.

Maintains alertness to potential programming and ideas from many sources including program suppliers; paying particular attention to fresh concepts which will expand the networks audience base and increase revenues.

Administers and monitors budgets for the network's program planning, scheduling and production.

Develops and monitors production / post standards for the network.

Identifies production equipment, studies needs and oversees acquisitions.

Responsible for managing 30 full-time professionals and the associated expense budgets.

• At least five years of recent significant TV programming, development, scheduling / program planning experience on a senior level. 
• Direct experience in the field of cable television and sports programming will be considered a plus.
• Strong creative executive with a strategic mind set that can also function tactically with production, post production and on-air talent. 
• Able to function effectively as a member of the senior management team and work well in a team oriented environment.
• Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong financial planning and analytical abilities. An organized business approach to problem solving is vital.
• Familiarity with production, post, development, talent and programming budgets.
• Strong analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills required to foresee and adapt to constant changes and challenges within the competitive landscape.
• Strong interpersonal skills to enable her or him to deal effectively with a wide range of personalities, styles and creative dispositions.
• Must have the capacity and experience to function within all areas related to programming on Business, Technical, Creative and Strategic levels.
• Ability to develop new programming in various formats to broaden demographic reach and increase ratings to younger audiences.
• Experience creating diverse programming that offers viewers a more intimate, involving, exciting, entertaining and interesting experience.
